NexTKD Rules Highlights

  • Matches are either Three 2-minute rounds (Undercard) or FIVE 2 MINUTE ROUNDS (Title Fights Only)
  • Only recognized Taekwondo techniques will score
  • Kicking foot must touch the mat between kicks (No "foot fencing")
  • Non-electronic chest guards
  • 5 Judges will live-score the match
  • 1 point punch to the body, 2 point kick to the body, 3 point kick to the head
  • Points will only be scored for techniques that land with power
  • Win by points, TKO or KO
  • Unique 10-sided ring (Decagon) with 10-meter diameter of fightable area
  • No illegal or unsportsmanlike actions will be allowed

What is NexTKD?

We are a company born out of our love for the sport and art of taekwondo. Our goal is to provide a new and alternative venue for high-level taekwondo athletes to display their skill in a professional environment and to share those matches around the world.

What makes NexTKD different?

NexTKD is a private corporation, not part of any national or international governing body and does not play by their rules. We are also not a mash-up of taekwondo, mma, karate or any other combat sport. NexTKD has modified rules that emphasize authentic, effective and powerful taekwondo technique. Those of you who know, or have fought before, will recognize it as the best of what competitive taekwondo has to offer. All of that, presented in an atmosphere of discipline and mutual respect.

How do I become a NexTKD Athlete?

We are actively recruiting taekwondo athletes. Experienced, international-level fighters will be considered for Featured Matches, but we are also looking for men and women interested in joining our Undercards and working their way up to a Title Fight. Simply fill out and submit the interest form on our contact page and you'll be in the loop!

Are NexTKD fighters paid?

Yes, based on experience and level of the match.
